So many things have changed in the world. It’s really unbelievable. Throughout the world, things have dramatically changed in the last few weeks. But you know what has not changed at all? First of all God. God has not changed. Nor have the stars above. God made the moon and the stars. And they shine from the exact spots they were appointed to be. In Job 25:5 we read that “God is more glorious than the moon; He shines brighter than the stars.”
This morning I got up and three bright planets and the moon were shining incredibly bright all in a single line in the clear sky. They are exactly where God planned them to be. Astronomers have been anxious to see this display. It is exactly as they expected. They simply waited to see this sky, and it was there as planned.
Think about that. Millions of stars. They are precisely where God planned them to be. After thousands of years. They have not changed. Their creator, our Creator, has not changed either.
When everything else falls away, He stands firm in his Word. His promises are found exactly where we look for them. Even in this tragic time, we are exactly where He planned us to be.
The sky today is so beautiful. It’s reassuring. Just be careful not to worship the creation. We worship the Creator. The stars are just one example of his creation. All of the earth is His. You are part of his creation. Look up and be still.
Jesus came and died for our sins.
Godspeed
Psalm 8:3
When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—the moon and the stars you set in place—what are nearby mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor.
Isaiah 40:26-27
Look up into the heavens.
Who created all the
stars?
He brings them out like an army, one after another,
calling each by its name.
Because of his great power and incomparable strength,
not a single one is missing.
Isaiah 48:12-13
I alone am God,
the First and the Last.
It was my hand that laid the foundations of the earth,
my right hand that spread out the heavens above.
When I call out the stars,
they all appear in order.”
Godspeed,
Susan
