I used to think the book of Revelation was scary.
It’s actually beautiful and intriguing.
It’s not the end…..it’s the beginning.
It’s the promise.
I love the fascination.
And it’s only the beginning.
I believe we aren’t supposed to understand it all.
Come on–that would an intriguing story with no real meaning.
Seven Churches.
Seven stars.
Seven angels.
Beautiful in itself.
Not to compete with the nightly sky, but it’s God’s creation and also beautiful. Night after night. Predictable.
Look at these descriptions–
It’s the Alpha and the Omega.
The isle of Patmos. Oh the vision.
Don’t forget the bronze feet!
Seven stars in the right hand.
One sitting on the throne brilliant as gemstones.
Even more beauty:
The beauty is stark.
Jasper. Carnelian. Emerald.
Four corners.
Locusts that look like horses!! Horses with head’s like lions! Verse 17.
Right foot on Sea. Left food on land.
Michael’s angels –chapter 12:7.
And then, chapter 12:15,18 and chapter 13:1.
The lamb and with him were 144,000 who had his name in Chapter 14.
Three angels shout “give glory to Him”.
And, oh the “Spotless White linen, 15:5.
The list goes on.
Who am I kidding? Please read this for yourself. It’s amazing.
Why was I frightened????
There’s so much to take in.
There’s so much beauty.
There is so much comfort.
There is so much intrigue.
Thanks to be God.
Godspeed
