About

Update: In early 2019, Susan was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. She began to write meditations – almost daily – while undergoing treatment and later created this blog in order to share those writings as her way to “go and tell”. In the summer of 2020, new complications from her treatment increasingly affected her ability to write and share. She was admitted to in-home hospice at the beginning of 2021 and died peacefully at home a few months later. From the beginning of her illness, we often prayed to see glimpses of how God would use this trial for his good purposes. May God continue to bless others through her faithful sharing of the good news. – Tom Fitzgibbon (Susan’s husband)

Susan Fitzgibbon grew up in a small town in Tennessee with a dream of being an architect. This dream led her to Auburn University. Although she loved architecture and still does, she prefers a straight-lined path to life. Accounting suited her personality and her love of detail and math led her to achieving a degree in accounting. She was fortunate to be recruited by the “Big Eight” accounting firms and she choose Arthur Andersen & Co. where she gained great experience, but more importantly she made lifelong friends.

As noted in the Full Circle blog post, Susan has always been a Christian but has deepened her faith in recent years due to many wonderful and not so wonderful life experiences. Susan turns to God for all things. She is especially fond on the verses that contain Jesus’s words. In particularly she focuses on Jesus’s last words on earth. He commands his disciples to “go and tell”. This is what Susan wants to do with this Blog, God Speaks.

Susan lives in Mountain Brook, Alabama with her husband Tom and their pets.
