Genesis 1
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
God is absolutely the world’s greatest artist. He created the sun, the moon, the stars, the oceans, the mountains, the animals and everything else in nature that we see or feel or hear.
Years ago, I finagled a business trip to the International Miami Basel Art show in South Beach Miami. It is an incredible collection of art from around the world. The art is presented in a variety of venues—everywhere from around the pool of vintage retro hotels along Collins Avenue to downtown Miami galleries to the 500,000 square feet Miami Beach Convention Center. There was A LOT of art to see. After a day or two, and especially after being inside the convention center, I had to get outside and rest my eyes from beautiful and sometimes odd art. My friend asked me what gallery I wanted to go to next. I said, “I’m going to see God’s art” and proceeded to go to the beach. My friends followed.
That was God’s art. The sun, the sand, the surf. God’s creation. Better than any human made art.
God is always evident in nature. We move too fast to notice it, but He is there. Stop on your walk, take out your earbuds and listen for the birds chirping. I like to think the birds are listening for our prayers and will help take them to God’s ears. Stop and look around. Birds, pets, lizards, flowers, ponds, lakes. They were created for our enjoyment. They are God’s gifts. They are handmade by the greatest artist ever. Don’t speed past them.
I’ve included some of the times I stopped to photograph nature and the animals therein. Hope you enjoy them and give thanks to God for nature. Say a prayer of thanks and praise for this beautiful world. And remember, God isn’t wearing earbuds. He’s listening to YOU.
Godspeed.
Susan
